Today’s “Avengers Day,” a impressive marketing push robust celebration of Marvel Comics’ decision to relaunch of their Avengers line with a slew of new books.

How does this concern you, Portland-based true believers? Well, in addition to the new Avengers-y comics hitting comic book shops everywhere today, Things from Another World (4133 NE Sandy) is having a Q&A/signing with two Portland’s biggest comics creators: Jeff Parker (the writer of books like Underground and Mysterius the Unfathomable, and who we interviewed a little while back) and Marvel Mastermindโ„ข Brian Michael Bendis (who’s the main dudeโ€”along with John Romita Jr., Stuart Immonen, and Alan Davisโ€”behind three of the new Avengers titles). Parker and Bendis will be at the store for a Q&A that starts at 7 and will sign afterward; TFAW also promises “free limited-edition Avengers prints to the first 25 attendees,” “exclusive Avengers variants and copies of [Parker’s] Atlas #1 in stock for purchase,” andโ€”shit yesโ€””complimentary refreshments and snacks.”

More info here. So, you know… assemble, and all that.
