In honor both of the release of their title The Surrogates on iTunes , and the upcoming release of the film adaptation, the friendly gents Top Shelf Productions are currently having a pretty decent sale—45 titles marked down to just $3 and another 55 titles on discount (the only caveat is that you have to spend $30 total, before shipping). The sale runs through Sept 25, the film’s release date. (I gotta admit I haven’t read The Surrogates, though it is currently a load-bearing book somewhere in the middle of my desk. Anyone, thoughts?)

I’ve read Surrogates. I like it a lot. The artwork was dead on. The various sub-plots between the main detective and the people in his life who couldn’t understand his choices were also very interesting.
The other neat touch was how there were in context fake ads inserted through out to give more veracity to the world the author created.
I also love robot ninjas, comic books and detective stories. Pretty much tailor made for my tastes.
1. Have you read the prequel to The Surrogates (Flesh and Bone)? 2. If so, should I read them in chronological order, or Surrogates first?
I have not read the prequel. I do have a hold placed on it at the library and will let you know what I think once I’ve read it.
