New Police Association President Daryl Turner isn’t the only one who’s been defending the Chasse cops and writing in the union newsletter. Try this on for size:
Does it take three years to answer the questions in the Chasse case? Probably not, but the investigation was never going to be quick enough or provide the answer that many wanted—that Chasse was killed by excessive force—rather than the truth which was that the officers acted appropriately and that Chasse’s death was a tragic occurrence.
…
Since the night of the incident, many officers’ lives have been a living hell. They have been run through a gauntlet of accusations by the Chasse family and the media and never deserved this kind of treatment.These are outstanding police officers with families of their own and they represent the integrity, compassion, accountability, respect and excellence expected of every member of the Bureau.
That was written in the October 2009 Rap Sheet by Sgt. Pete Simpson—who’s about to become the police bureau’s media spokesperson. Pete, if you’re reading this, I’ll be in touch. You’ll still talk to me, right? Right? Hello?

Stefan, you are such a Matt Davis wanna-be. The problem with that though is Matt was/is a huge hack, so that just makes you an idiot!
Heaven forbid a fellow police officer stand up for their fellow officers!
If a TriMet driver wrote the same kind of crap you see in every issue of the Rap Sheet on a personal blog they would be fired.
@FIRE STEFAN NOW!: Heaven forbid a fellow police officer stand up for their fellow officers!
Cause nobody else is going to. Did you know that a police officer in Vancouver pulled someone over. After the person attacked the police officer the officer tried to taze them. It didn’t work but some bystanders came by and helped the officer subdue the guy. Can you see that happening in Portland? Nope, neither can I. The officer would have pulled out his gun instead of a tazer, emptied a clip into the guy, reloaded, and emptied another one into him. And if any bystanders weren’t scared away because the officer’s aim is crappy, the only thing they would have done is film the thing with camera phones, they wouldn’t dare get involved in it, they’d find themselves arrested, (or dead,) for their trouble.
I was gonna say something but Matthew D nailed it.
(cue in violin playing) sniff! sniff! sounds to me like Job Carping and as the old saying goes,
“if you don’t like the job, then go find another that suits you”
{it’s called Simple Solutions for Simpletons.}
All you cop haters should go hang yourselves…you stupid, idiotic, ignorant fools!
@FIRE STEFAN NOW!: Wow, what an amazing argument. I hadn’t thought of it that way, I’ve got to say you’ve really opened my eyes.
