The Oregonian is calling the TriMet measure as a loss, since it’s trailing by four percent. I think it’s still too close to call, as only half of Multnomah County’s ballots have been counted and it’s leading 51 to 49 in this county.
Either way, the message is clear. TriMet: Not the most popular transportation agency on the playground right now.
Transportation writer Elly Blue sums it up best:

If TriMet’s bond does fail, hey, it could be a good thing. Rather than cutting service, they could be forced to renegotiate seriously with the operators’ union, whose members are currently protesting having to pay a portion of their healthcare costs. Rising healthcare costs have helped push TriMet into the red, this could be some intense leverage to balance the budget.

One day THE CHILDREN will get all the funding they need and TriMet will have to hold a bake sale to buy a bus.
Blame it on the union and the transit workers of course.
Surprising to see the Mercury joining in the race to the bottom along with the right wingers.
Ah, the Koch brothers are sitting in their mansions with glee, they’ve done it!
All the problems in America are the unionized labor’s fault.
Pretty soon they will have everyone working for Wall mart wages and no benefits, more $$$ for them, and that is what they want.
Americans at each others throats to do their dirty work.
It’s all part of the plan.
Wow blame the union!!!! blame them all!!!! Don’t forget the fact that niel mcfarlane took a $25,000 bonus and a 75,000 per year raise. Oh hush that shelly lomax took a 20,000 bonus and a 60,000 per year raise. Oh make sure you bury that nice fat WES over run of over 75 mill. Oh and don’t ever hide the fact of all those porta pottys out there for drivers to take a break in at a whopping 500,000 per year. Cripes the cheap parts that they buy to repair these busses instead of the median price that would last longer… Wait do I see a new bus in this picture.
Next time you guys want to post crap about our union look at all the facts first you bigots
