Huffington Post points out this bit from Romney’s 60 Minutes interview:
“Well, we do provide care for people who don’t have insurance,” he said in an interview with Scott Pelley of CBS’s “60 Minutes” that aired Sunday night. “If someone has a heart attack, they don’t sit in their apartment and die. We pick them up in an ambulance, and take them to the hospital, and give them care. And different states have different ways of providing for that care.”
Of course, that emergency room visit could completely destroy someone’s entire life, financially. But Romney does have two—count ’em, two—backup plans for those poor people who suddenly find themselves facing tens of thousands of dollars of bills: They can borrow money from their parents, or they can sell their stocks. See? Problem solved!
The dynamic duo of Romney and Ryan would drive the entire economy into a nose dive as long as it benefits the richest Americans.
