This is a smart ad from the Ron Paul people: It ties Ron Paul squarely to Ronald Reagan and it hits Rick Perry where it hurts most in a Republican primary: It trumpets the fact that he backed Al Gore’s presidential campaign in 1988.
One weird misstep: Note the punching of the words “the one” when a picture of Ron Paul comes up. That’s a continuation of the Paul camp’s messianic imagery, and it doesn’t help with the “kooky kollege kids” problem that the Paul campaign is dealing with.

That ad makes me like Perry more than I thought I ever would. Of course, I shouldn’t be surprised as Perry was also a porn mogul.
