At the 2011 SOS (Save Our Schools) March, actor/dreamboat/smarty pants Matt Damon not only spoke at the rally, but defended teachers against a much-less brainy libertarian reporter and cameraman. Hey dumb camera man, you like apples? HOW DO YA LIKE DEM APPLES??

Bang bang, choo-choo train, let me see you shake that thang. Wm. Steven Humphrey is the editor-in-chief of the Portland Mercury and has held the job since 2000. (So don’t get any funny ideas.)

  1. Matt Damon is cool, and teaching is an honorable profession – but I can think of alot of reasons that being a teacher is cool.
Summers off to begin with. (!!) Pretty decent pay with great bennies. Retirement paid by the state. No graveyard shifts, every conceiveable holiday off. A workplace with a lack of competition (comparitively speaking) etc etc

  2. This Matt Damon kid just went up a few points in my book. This combined with Sky Law, and he’s starting to get noticed by the Cup.
