Now that it’s been officially announced that Comedy Central will be live-broadcasting the Jon Stewart/Stephen Colbert Rally to Restore Sanity on October 30, it seems safe for us to officially announce that we’ll be hosting a viewing party at the Mission Theater from 8 am-noon. After that, we’ll head across town to the Eastbank Esplanade to join the Portland Rally for Sanity—creative bike ride/carpool transportation ideas TBD.

(Thanks to commenters Stu, Abusive, et al, for suggesting this and pushily following up on it a whole bunch in the comments.)

Alison Hallett served nobly as the Mercury's arts editor from 2008-2014. Her proud legacy lives on.

  1. @Stu Oh, that’s a great idea. I’ll see if we can’t rustle up some supplies too.

Waking up early on a Saturday + drinks + sign making = FUN!
