Do not forget that my most favorite, summeriest event of the summer, THE BIG FLOAT, is this Sunday—and this one promises to be the best one yet. Why? Because after four years of Big Floatin’, the organizers are really getting it dialed in. It’s easier to register and get wristbands, it’s easier to get in the water (thanks to a new paved walkway to the beach), and the musical entertainment this year is BOSS because the much beloved Ural Thomas and the Pain will be playing on the river barge. And maybe best of all? The temperature is predicted to be a wonderfully hot 90 degrees—so you have two choices, either get in the water, or hang out all day in the 7-11.

Is it just me or does the float path seem ridiculously short? Putting in under the Marquam Bridge and Taking out at the bowl? Seems like a ten minute float and not worth all the hoopla….
