You know Michael Pollan.

He wrote that really famous book that set the course of food politics discussions for the past five years and made Americans all realize that we’re made of corn.

And he’s coming to Portland for a big food and environmentalism conference at University of Portland next weekend called Food for Thought. His Saturday-night lecture is sold out (though there will be rush tickets at the door for $20โ€”you should still totally try to go). Wonder of wonders, I have two pairs of tickets to give away thanks to the graciousness of UofP.

To win the tickets, email me a photo of the food you most regret eating in the past year, with a sentence or two description. I’ll choose the winners at 2pm tomorrow.

Sarah Shay Mirk reported on transportation, sex and gender issues, and politics at the Mercury from 2008-2013. They have gone on to make many things, including countless comics and several books.

  1. This would be better done in the comments than in the emails. I’d love to hear what other people ate that made them disgusted with themselves.

  2. jake, do you know how many non-complex carbs are in gluten-free ranch? it’s enough to make you switch back to soy-based tofu dressing

  3. @Graham – I’d prefer that, too, but we can’t post photos to comments. For some reason.

I suppose people could link to their photos… but whatever, now my inbox is full of gross foods.
