After more than a full year of watching our favorite musicians through the screens of various devices, live music is finally kicking back into gear. The time has come to reacquaint your dancing shoes with the sticky floors of venues and get lost in pulsing beats, as only professional-grade sound systems could pump out. We’ve rounded up some notable picks, from an appearance by Nick Waterhouse at an intimate venue to some of the biggest names in music at Portland’s largest indoor concert space. Read on for all the details, or check out our complete music calendar for even more upcoming shows.
JULY 17
Live at The Lot: Y La Bamba
Led by singer-songwriter Luz Elena Mendoza, the Portland-based “eclectic indie folk-pop” band makes bold political statements in their latest album Mujeres. As its title suggests, the album is a bilingual exploration of women’s experiences, and is dedicated to Mendoza’s mother. Y La Bamba will play two showtimes, and all tickets are sold as two-, four-, or six-person seating pods.
