The days of summer are soon coming to an end, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t some events to check out this weekend on the cheap. Get in a good chuckle at the final Comedy in the Park event of the year, fight for worker’s rights by standing in solidarity with Nabisco workers on strike, or find some comfort and community at the interactive festival Joy (Comes) in the Mourning. FRIDAY
COMEDY
Comedy in the Park
If there is any rule of comedy, it’s that it is always best enjoyed outside. I think George Carlin said that. Anyway, this is your last chance to enjoy the comedic stylings of some of Portland’s best comics before the weather starts to get crummy. Its hosted by Portland jokesters Seth Allen and Tory Ward in what is sure to be a night of chuckles galore.
Laurelhurst Park, Laurelhurst (free)
