PDX Pop Now! & Friends of Noise Joint Benefit Show
Interested in supporting local live music and the nonprofits that keep the scene alive? PDX Pop Now! and Friends of Noise are throwing a joint benefit show at FoN’s recently opened all-ages venue the Off Beat. General admission is under $20 and shows are always NOTAFLOF (No One Turned Away For Lack Of Funds), but any additional donations will help power PDX Pop Now!’s annual free festival and Friends of Noise’s programming and youth workshops. With seven local bands performing, I think it’s well worth the price. The nonprofits are seasoned pros at putting together a killer bill, bringing together the Fur Coats’ bouncy and funky garage rock, Drew Dru’s jazz rap, Laughing About Nothing’s power pop-punk, Eznce’s lo-fi R&B, and so much more for this show. Be there or be square… in the sense that you’ll be missing something awesome, not in the sense that squares are a certain type of person worthy of exclusion—this is probably one of the most inclusive spaces you can find.
