FRIDAY
READINGS & TALKS
Joey Clift with Gabe Colhoff
Joey Clift, a Cowlitz comedian and writer, brings Native history to life in his new book, We’ve Been Here the Whole Time!: A Not So Sacred Guide to All Things Native America. Tackling everything from persistent misconceptions and stereotypes to sports mascots, ancestry claims, and the Land Back movement, Clift offers a comprehensive resource for allies and anyone eager to learn more about nuanced Native culture. Both insightful and hilarious, the book delivers a wealth of information without sacrificing levity. Clift will discuss the book with Gabe Colhoff, frontman of Portland punk band 1876, who uses music and other alternative forms of expression to celebrate Indigenous culture. BRI BREY
