Whether July makes you think of hot dogs and fireworks, air-conditioned movie theaters, outdoor concerts and performances, or ice-cold beverages, you’ll find tons of things to do this month that will allow you to soak up that coveted Portland sunshine now that summer is in full effect. As we do every month, we’ve compiled the biggest events you need to know about, from the Hollywood 100 to Hell’s Kitchen and from the PDX World Naked Bike Ride to the inaugural Portland Arts Week.

COMEDY

Michael Che
One of the long-running SNL greats, Michael Che has been co-host of the iconic news sketch “Weekend Update” since 2014. My favorite bit is when he and cohost Colin Jost do a blind joke swap that often ends in a pileup of cringe-worthy punchlines. In recent years, Che has taken a step back from his co-head writer position on the show to focus on his stand-up. His timing is impeccable and his material has a laid-back delivery, full of blunt observations and hot-button cultural roasts. He’s sure to have plenty to say over his three nights in Portland.
