Portland Cinco de Mayo Fiesta
This sprawling Cinco de Mayo street fiesta has been put on by the Portland Guadalajara Sister City Association (PGSCA) for 38 years running. The celebration features performances by Mariachi Ciudad de Guadalajara and Mexican folk dancing troupe Ballet Folklorico Mexico En La Sangre. Don’t miss lotería games and face painting and cultural crafts for the kiddos at the plaza de niños. I can’t wait to get my hands on some aguas frescas and tamales from over 40 vendors serving up Mexican food and drink. SHANNON LUBETICH
