Izy Kactus, The Waysides, Age of Majority
In our current economy of skyrocketing prices, it’s a bit of a miracle that free concerts still exist. You can just show up at Starday Tavern on Friday night, walk in without paying a penny, and be gifted with live music from three awesome local artists—so why wouldn’t you? In case you need more convincing, headliner Izy Kactus promises to play songs from a “new era” of the psych-rock project and supporting act the Waysides just released their third full-length, which is full of fuzzed-out and jangly rock tunes. Age of Majority kicks off the night with a reverb-heavy psych-rock sound they describe as “having an ear to the past but eyes on the future.” SHANNON LUBETICH
