Seven Sisters—a retail shop that focuses on items designed and created by those who identify as women—will present a series of feminist art shows that will “explore complex and varying ideas related to femininity, symbol making, and identity.” The series will run from May to October, with the opening for each new artist happening on the first Friday of every month. Each event will be an opportunity to engage the artist in conversation about their work, and will include music, food and drink, and giveaways. The first featured artist will be Sophie Cangelosi, an illustrator based in Portland, Maine whose work explores themes of perception, impermanence, and femininity using figurative and abstract forms. Summer Dreaming Geena Pietromonaco

Jane’s Vanity will transform the Cleaners at Ace Hotel into a tropical escape with Summer Dreaming, an event that will feature clothing, lingerie, and accessories. With a focus on cotton, linen, and silks, the event will showcase brands such as Restless Sleepers, Klements, Gilda & Pearl, Rossell England, and more, along with music, plants, models, and cocktails and wine. While Jane’s Vanity focuses on European collections for apparel and lingerie, they’ll round out the event with jewelry, perfume, and body care from local companies Topaz, Charming the Moon, and Wolf’s Apothecary. Adorn is apparently KILLING it right now, because they just announced the opening of their fourth location. Adorn’s newest outpost, in Lake Oswego, will feature their famous denim wall as well as the fashion-forward styles for every shape and size. Pigeon Heart Designs Juniper & The Sea

Local jewelry company Pigeon Heart Designs just released their first lookbook featuring their Spring/Summer 2018 collection which, “draws from people of all kinds, from dear friends to an interesting passersby, designer Lisa Hirsch’s travels, the flow and breath of nature, and the unpredictable pulse of the city.” The collection focuses on versatility and universality, and is meant to accentuate and flatter women’s individual features and encourage confidence. Each piece is designed and manufactured in Portland with hand-hammered sterling and brass, responsibly sourced antlers and animal teeth, and stones.

EcoVibe Apparel Allegra Villella

EcoVibe Apparel also just released their Spring 2018 lookbook, and it’s chockfull of effortless looks from their house line complimented by accessories from local designers. “We wanted to create a lookbook that captures the essence of spring in the Pacific Northwest with transitional pieces in our favorite lightweight, natural and sustainable fabrics,” they say. “With on-trend versatile pieces, timeless silhouettes, and soft luxurious fabrics, our spring collection offers a variety of styles for women of all ages and body types.” In addition to selling ethically produced clothing, EcoVibe Apparel also donates 1 percent of sales to environmental causes.
