Seven Sisters—a retail shop that focuses on items designed and created by those who identify as women—will present a series of feminist art shows that will “explore complex and varying ideas related to femininity, symbol making, and identity.” The series will run from May to October, with the opening for each new artist happening on the first Friday of every month. Each event will be an opportunity to engage the artist in conversation about their work, and will include music, food and drink, and giveaways. The first featured artist will be Sophie Cangelosi, an illustrator based in Portland, Maine whose work explores themes of perception, impermanence, and femininity using figurative and abstract forms. Seven Sisters, 811 E Burnside, Suite 110, May-Oct, first opening Fri May 4, 5-7 pm
