on our first visit, they never brought our beers then questioned our integrity when we walked back up to the bar to get them after most of our pizza was gone. they burned the soul out of one of our slices then tried to explain why it wasn't burnt. apparently, the pizza elite have now moved to total charring methods wherein the slice crumbles to ash when you attempt to lift it. in the end, i felt the education in proper crust charring was the most valuable item we received.
i returned for a slice on a night when there were no guests to give it a second chance. i left the slice on the table after two bites. i felt it was better to lose $4 than to bring it up. i'm not a snob. i'll eat three-day-old dominos because even bad pizza is still better than all other food. i'm pretty sure the slice was sitting under the heat lamp for hours too long. maybe the pizza is delicious if you get it right out of the oven. i don't think i'll ever find out.
i recommend any other pizza place in town. this article is more of an advertisement than a review, but i still feel the need to provide a warning to the general public. Red Sauce, Bella Faccia, Hotlips, Pizzicato, Amalfi's, Fire and Stone, Pizza Nostra, Via Chicago, and Handsome Pizza are all delicious and less than a single mile away. there is also an albertson's further down prescott. they sell digiorno's, which is at least a slight improvement. to be clear, i do not like pizza jerk.
Pizza Jerk has amazing pizza. And, please also try the ceasar salad.... equally delicious. Thank god I won't be running into PDXPIZZANERD when I head over to my new favorite pizza shop. Thanks Tommy and Brandon for bringing great Pizza to NE....
I agree with pizza needs comment. It's very disorganized and very poor customer service. The pizza is a C plus at best. The crust is flavorless. The meatballs are great and I am glad they are in the neighborhood, but they need to try harder and be consistent and not just make pizza because they grew up eating it. I'd rather spend my money across the street at red sauce because their pie actually has flavor and is made with love. Tommy you can make a great sandwhich but your pie needs some work my friend. We don't need fancy toppings when you can't get the crust and service right.
