NE 30th & Killingsworth, meal for meal, is one of the best corners in the city, if not the most wallet-friendly. Tonight, from 6-9, most of the block’s restaurants are participating in the neighborhood’s third annualblock party. You can sample food from Yakuza, DOC, Autentica, Cocotte, and Extracto Coffee. For the first time, the block party will feature live music (Christopher Neil Young & Los Sanchos, Left Coast Country, and Purse Candy Music) and special events and deals at neighborhood shops (Half Pint Vintage and The People’s Yoga, among others). If you’re not worn out from TBA, MFNW, or any other acronym-heavy events that took place over the weekend, this should be a great way to try out a few of Portland’s better restaurants (detailed menus after the jump).
Yakuza: Cucumber Salad; Spicy Tuna Rolls; Kobe Tartare; Slow Braised Pork Ribs
DOC: Chicken Liver Mousse on Baguette with Assorted Accompaniments; Cantaloupe Soup
Autentica: Chilorio – Pork Simmered in a Smoked Pasilla Chile Sauce โ served with a Mexican Baguette. Tinga de Res Con Totopos – Shredded Beef Simmered in Chipotle Sauce on top of House Chips and Refried Black Beans.
Cocotte: Poulet en Cocotte; Chicken Liver Mousse; Salmon Parfait; and Chilled Melon Soup, among other favorites.
Extracto: Dessert! Free baked goods.
