When her husband, Sean Brazie, bought Crakerjacks Pub & Eatery up on NW Thurman with his friend, Jason Vaden two years ago, Lizzy Spanbauer, a former Crackerjacks bartender started designing Jell-O shots based on top shelf liquors, whipped cream, playful toppings like Pop Rocks, and puns.
One of her most recent creations, the “Carpet Munch,” are shots sporting the design of the airport’s former and beloved carpet. At present she’s trying to perfect an edible glitter-topped shot made with pineapple Jell-O up top and cranberry Jell-O down below, which are spiked with Bacardi rum and called the “Bodak Jello,” in honor of Cardi B’s out-of-nowhere smash 2017 single.
But starting this spring, Spanbauer’s going to be offering those shots al fresco from Hell-O Jello, her tiny red food cart, which she’s going to park on the sidewalk in front of Crackerjacks on Friday and Saturday nights.
In total, her Hell-O Jello cart will offer 22 shots each weekend, and all but seven of them will rotate based on whatever caters to her creative whim—including those puns. They’ll run $3 per shot, $10 for flights of four, and $35 for mega-flights of 14.
Look for her this spring and summer out on the sidewalk on Friday and Saturday nights, from 7 to 9 or 10 pm.
