The Carmen Miranda from Pix

News came to the Mercury today, in a press release from Pix, that Cheryl Wakerhauser is moving on after seven years as owner of Pix Patisserie. No specific reason is given other than Wakerhauser is “moving ahead to take on new adventures and challenges.” From the press release:

It is her hope to find an individual that is passionate about food, business savvy, and
creative in that “Portland” way to take the reins. Someone to continue to
offer Pixie Bars to the first Pix customers who browsed the Farmers Market
years ago and to bring exciting new ideas of their own to the business.

Wakerhauser says that she will be willing to consult with and train the right candidate in order to help smooth the transition of ownership. So fans of Pix need not panic. If all goes well, you should not experience any disruption in your sweet appropriation.

In order to reassure yourself that this is the case, check out the Dim Sum dessert extravaganza at the SE Division location (3402 SE Division St) tonight. You get your choice of six desserts for $15. Dim Sum Yum Yum indeed.

  1. Got a link to the actual press release? This is the only place I can find reference to this news, and I’d like to pass on the info to an interested party.
