If the idea of commercially sold ice cream made out of human breast milk does not make you flinch, consider the name of the dessert, now on sale at the Icecreamists ice cream shop in London’s Covent Garden, is called: Baby Gaga.

The milk itself comes from one Mrs. Victoria Hiley, who is paid for her milk donations in an arrangement she defines is a “recession buster,” noting that, “What’s the harm in using my assets for a bit of extra cash?” I mean, sure. “Some people will hear about it and go yuck—but actually it’s pure organic, free-range, and totally natural,” says Icecreamist founder Matt O’Connor. Free range? Wow, that is a plus. So… would you try it? (Before you answer that, know that the milk donors undergo the same health checks as hospital blood donors.)
I’m sort of vegan, but I would be all over this. Why not? If this grosses you out, you should think a little more about where your “normal” ice cream comes from.

I was hanging out with some new moms the other day, and they were telling me about how great and sweet their breast milk tastes.
Still… I’m not going out of my way to sample it.
If they made breast milk cheese I might be tempted to try it on pizza. Breast milk ice cream is a little to close to the source though.
Sounds icky until you think about cow breast milk… then it sounds more reasonable. At least it’s the same species. Plus, if memory serves, I think I was really into this stuff about 28 years ago.
Isn’t all milk “breast milk”? Maybe they should say “human breast milk” or just “human milk.”
