Our friends at Little Green Pickle PR sent a memo about their restaurant clients who feature patio and outdoor seating. Ever in search of a generative device or crowdsourcing trotline, I took the bait, and decided to seed what I hope will be a well-populated list of outdoor eateries in which to enjoy the precious month(s) of not-rain.
From their client list: Bar Avignon, The Bent Brick, Besaw’s, Departure, Smallwares.
From the frazzled bladder of my addled brain: Uyghur Burger (SE 398th and Kinbee), Firehouse.
I’m looking for more than just places which run some picnic tables along the sidewalk; which eateries do you enjoy that have dedicated, comfortable outdoor seating that especially shines in the summertime?

Interurban just started a totally lovely brunch menu with no waiting (as of last weekend) and a lovely modern-styled back patio.
Ron Toms, Cocotte Bar & Bistro, Pause, Starky’s, Grain & Gristle.
Cartlandia is our new Lent’s favorite. It’s hard to find places in the area that feel safe enough to sit outside and not be shot, approached by a prostitute, or run over by a drunk/meth driver. They have a great covered beer garden, and the Terminator Sandwich at Rock House Grill is the best thing to ever land in Portland! Also, the hotdogs from Relish kill.
Cruz Room on Alberta. Casa Naranja on Mississippi. Rose And Thistle on Broadway.
check out the Hop and Vine on Killingsworth, huge backyard with tons of space and great food. good combo that.
The Sextant Tavern on Marine Drive has a great patio to sit in, eat and watch boats and stuff.
Off topic, but Hop and Vine drives me fucking crazy, and we’ve given them several chances. Food’s good, drinks are OK, prices are ludicrously high and service ludicrously bad. If it weren’t for that awesome cheap burger and those bacon-wrapped dates, I’d never go back.
