It’s been in the works for far too long with a steady, deafening buzz (from this publication amongst many others): Andy Ricker’s new NW eatery, Ping, opens officially tonight at 4pm.

If Ping turns out to be anything like Ricker’s Southeast Portland Thai wonderland, Pok Pok, then Portlanders should be in for a treat. My expectations are particularly high. I have been a fan of Pok Pok since it opened as a shack on Division street a couple years ago. I’m a huge fan of Pok Pok’s boar collar, and I have to say if there is anything like that on Ping’s “Asian drinking food” menu, I will be a happy fellow.

Look for a review in Last Supper a few months from now. In the meantime, go check it out and post your comments below.

  1. White guy running a chinese restaurant, whats not to love? I guess I won’t have to drive out to PF Changs for my ethnic cuisine raped and stripped clean of everything that makes it different.
