NEW OPENINGS AND RETURNS

Boy Howdy
If you’ve never had a spiedie before, it’s a sandwich originating from Binghamton, New York, featuring marinated, grilled cubes of meat on a sub roll. Co-owners Julian Gomez and Ben Healy-Levy opened the cart Boy Howdy, which specializes in the regional favorite, in Southeast Portland earlier this month. Their take involves marinated chicken in a variety of flavors (such as chili-ginger, yogurt, and lemon pepper) on a Bella’s Italian Bakery roll. They also offer vegan variations made with grilled portobello mushrooms.
