The NDA on the next World of Warcraft expansion has dissolved, and I can finally tell you all about it.
Wrath of the Lich King is currently in an invite-only beta, but since I once pulled a splinter from Mike Morhaime’s paw I’m one of the lucky few who gets to explore the new content prior to the expansion’s holiday 2008 release window.
I’ll need a few weeks to fully explore things before I can bore everyone around me to the extent that my doctorate in Games Journalism demands, but for now I have two minor presents to tide you over.
First, a Flickr feed of screenshots taken by myself thoughout my adventures. Every picture was taken at the highest detail level, and looks as pretty as you’d hope.
Second, I’ve already done this with my impressions post over at Wired, but I want to extend an invitation to all of you WoW fans: If there is anything you’ve been wondering about Wrath, feel free to ask me in the comments. I’ve been playing this thing for half a week now (and WoW since it was in alpha) so I can talk authoritatively on most subjects. If it’s something I don’t already know, I’ll do my best to track it down or hit up one of my knowledgeable virtual friends or members of the development team.

Are rogues really becoming even more overpowered in pvp?
Are Death Knights going to be a viable offensive pvp class?
I play a rogue and I haven’t noticed any massive overpowering. Then again, most PvP is extremely limited. Everyone is more concerned with exploring the wilderness and completing quests at the moment, even on the PvP server.
No, DKs won’t, but they are a bit too powerful at the moment. A lvl 80 DK beats a lvl 80 everything else currently (though many skills for many classes have yet to be implemented).
If all the pics were taken at the highest level of detail, why did you remove the “All Sizes” option in flickr? I’d like to be able to click that and see them humongous.
Yeah, I worried about that. I’ve been trying to find a way that shows off the pictures without letting less scrupulous colleagues of mine lift the pictures for their own use.
So far, its a losing battle.
Screw it. I’m changing it back to CC-license.
Awesome. Thanks.
I only played WoW in beta, and for a month or two in live, until my friend’s computer was stolen. But I still love looking at the sweet screenshots.
