Me too on @Reymont’s comment. I thought that the proper spelling for the wheat was “Burlgher” but discovered it is is without the “L”, so I learned something today.
That said, I was basically this kid at that age more or less, although most of my complaining was about why the game descriptions for Atari 2600 games never really matched their graphics or gameplay. (I’m looking at you Breakout)

My husband and I use that to explain all sorts of things, like intelligent design, creation myths, etc. Seriously, next time some asks you “why” something, just say a wizard did it. Half of the people will shrug and say “okay.”
