Some activists are annoyed that the ad doesn’t use the word “gay”—or lesbian or bisexual or transgendered or two-spirited or questioning. But the ad is directed at gays and lesbians, encouraging them to join the fight for their own rights, and I don’t think queers will be confused. What I find annoying is the assertion that for every Jerry Falwell there’s a Harvey Milk. Would it were true. Where’s James Dobson’s Milk? Where’s Pat Robertson’s Milk? Where’s Bill Donohue’s Milk? Maggie Gallagher’s Milk? Santorum’s Milk? Huckabee’s Milk? Brownback’s Milk? Limbaugh’s Milk?
