Well, since you asked, Beau…
BREEDLOVE: AMBIGUOUS IN HIS FEELINGS TOWARD LOCAL MEDIA…
About 100 people showed up at Fantasy Adult Video on West Burnside tonight to have Beau Breedlove sign copies of the May issue, $9.99, of Unzipped magazine.
Breedlove was 20 minutes late, which was unfortunate, because when he was 15 minutes late, I was thinking how awesome it might have been to have led this blog with that. Still, it gave me some time to catch up with folks in line, and ask them what they thought of the shots.
“I’m here for a friend,” said Doug Ybanez, who was first in line. “I know that sounds…I got one for my friend. He can’t make it. He has an aunt who’s turning 80, so that trumps this, apparently. The pictures are exactly what I expected. Kind of tasteful.”
“I think it’s hot,” said Heather Sorensen. “I think it’s an opportunity, and he’s doing what most people would do in his position.”

BREEDLOVE: Cheeky…
“I’m here because it’s a historical event in Portland,” said Kelly Wakefield. “I’m not mad at him. It’s also extra credit for my PSU class in sexualities. My teacher’s name is Jason something. So I’m going to write about it, what it means to be the focus of a scandal. I think the shots are tasteful.”
“I’m here for my writing class,” said Rudy Valdez. “He’s an attention whore. I’m like, come on, if you’d slept with any other old man, you wouldn’t be on the cover of some magazine or flying to LA to party. When I was 17, I slept with plenty of older men, and where did it get me? In college..”

“I think that he was just having fun,” said Dean Stimson. “It was purely coincidental that [he and Adams] met. I’m not mad at him. I’m mad at the mayor for lying, but other than that he’s done some pretty good things for the city, given that he’s a lame duck.”
“I think it’s hilarious that he’s signing things and I just want it so I can make fun of him with my friends,” said Nathan Burns. “I was down there at the park eating lunch with my friends, and I thought I’d come down and get his pics.”
“Is that Sam’s tie he’s pulling on?” asked Shakur Sevigny. “He probably picked it up at the restroom at city hall. I think kissing is always intimate, it’s up close and personal, but it’s kind of gross to kiss someone in a bathroom. You should avoid intimate contact in a bathroom.”
“You’ve got to be kidding,” Burns said, to Sevigny.
“I don’t think there is a scandal,” said Jerry Gregson. “I don’t think Sam lied, either. The question he was asked was whether he had sex with a minor or not. I think it’s fine, the pictures are tasteful, and a lot of it’s tasteful, too. I don’t think a lot of people understand what it’s like to grow up gay in this society.”
The article that goes with the pictures, by Sean Carnage, is well worth the $9.99 to read:
In any case, Adams hardly seems to be the sexual power player that some make him out to be. Was Adams lonely? “He had just gotten out of a 11-year relationship,” Breedlove reports. More and more, the whole incident (except for lying about and covering up their tryst, for which Adams will have to answer to investigators) seems like the sort of thing a busy gay man does when he wants some dick in his mouthโhit up whomever is close by and horny. (Or on Craigslist.) “I told Sam from the very beginning, it’s better to tell the truth,” quips Beau, before disappearing once again into the wardrobe room.”
Breedlove tells Carnage, “I jacked off three times last night so I wouldn’t get too excited at the shoot.” Carnage writes, “it’s an interesting way to deal with nerves.” And…
“Back when I was new to Portland, I was selfish,” Breedlove admits, pointing to his cock. “I was like, take care of me! I didn’t suck, I didn’t want cock in my mouth. I would tell these guys: You can jack off afterward, I don’t care. But I don’t want to be involved.” With this statement the Adams-Breedlove dynamic becomes more clearโand clearly oversold.”
The article closes with Carnage comparing Breedlove to guys he knew in the Midwestern punk sceneโ”people who brought outrageousness and fun to people who have the least access to it.” And as I watched Breedlove signing people’s nipples at Fantasy Adult, I couldn’t help thinking, maybe Carnage was right. Color me Midwestern if you like, but I would still totally hit that. And isn’t that the point? I mean, wouldn’t we all? Last words to Breedlove:
“I know things I doโespecially this photo shootโare so offbeat, they seem so out of line for my personality. But it’s an opportunity, and an opportunity is something you should never pass up.”

wow. just wow. 100 people went to get autographs? See what unemployment leads to- this is what people do when they have no better use for their time!
Enough of this boring Tonya-Harding-ass shite.
haha Cool! Shame that Unzipped has such crappy photographers. Looks like his lower legs have been amputated.
Where’s Kato Kaelin when we need him?
Meeting Matt Davis was more exciting then meeting Breedlove. – Rudy
