Texas’s restrictions on abortion will not have any effect on the options and choices of wealthy white women in Texas. They will as they always have, use their resources to circumvent it.
What that means is that wealthy white men (legislators ) have taken control over the bodies of poor women, who are mostly African American and Latinx, and with control of their bodies have taken away their autonomy over financial fortunes.
The single most important financial decision we make in our life is if and when to have children.
So let’s call this what it is, Slavery in a new guise, wrapped in a thin plastic film of pseudo morality.

While I’m very much for dunking on Whitey, this law absolutely effects white women in Texas, even wealthy ones. It doesn’t have to be a competition you know. It already sucks enough as it is.
Denying the fact that this law affects poor non-white women far more than any other population is nothing new. White people simply refuse to believe that legislation in this country is purposely designed to disproportionately harm non-white people to degrees it will never harm them.
This law is sadistic, cruel, and obscene. And it will kill women. It will kill lots of women.
It will force those who do give birth to children they don’t want and can’t afford to take care of into lives of suffering and poverty. It allows people (and let’s be clear it will be men) to hunt people – women and their doctors – like animals – for having or performing a medical procedure from which men benefit as much women. It is a law that is deeply entrenched in depraved indifference to life.

The GOP are a dead eyed death cult. They are working on killing as many people as possible in as many ways as possible. And this has nothing to do with children. Refusing to protect children who cannot get vaccinated from being sickened or killed by COVID while simultaneously making sure that the female children of the same age who are raped by family members and become pregnant are forced to give birth is deep seated, incomprehensibly cruel misogyny. Texas wants it to be the 1800s. They want women to be treated as and used like livestock. They want all non-white people to be treated as and used as livestock. They sure as shit don’t want them to be able to live their lives as they choose and they don’t want them to vote either.
Governor Abbott claims he will eliminate all rapists. In the state that has the most rapists of any state in the United States. Yeah right.
This country literally has no interest in, let alone the capacity for, the humane treatment of human beings.
