I had really hoped they would figure it out by now. But alas, different people have different learning styles, and it wouldn’t be very inclusive of us it we didn’t provide the opportunity for some to learn the hard way. This message is primarily geared to those with empathy and anxiety: IN the COMING days and weeks you may see some strange things, these could be upsetting and emotional to endure. Rest assured it will all work out fine. You don’t have to pretend its easy. You don’t have to pretend it isn’t upsetting. You can feel free to take a step back from the news anxiety machine at any point you’d like. In fact that’s good advice regardless. If you want to help, focus on improving things at the local level, thats where the immediate need is and that is where lasting change is concieved. Start with your neighbors, how can you build trust and safety among each other. TLDR: Don’t panic. Help your neighbors. Turning off the news is never a bad idea.
