The state of the media and magazines in particular is in shambles, OBVIOUSLY. However, I’m thrilled to learn about a new magazine that caters to my specific interest, Pole Spin: The International Pole Dance Fitness & Lifestyle Magazine. For far too long, the exercising community has ignored the physiological benefits of picking up Polish people and spinning them over your head, and… HA! HA! HAAA!!! JUST KIDDING. I spin Polish people on my penis. Here’s the magazine!

Best of luck, Pole Spin! (Though you might have a hard time selling your magazine in Portland—there isn’t much of a pole dancing community here.)

Bang bang, choo-choo train, let me see you shake that thang. Wm. Steven Humphrey is the editor-in-chief of the Portland Mercury and has held the job since 2000. (So don’t get any funny ideas.)

  1. Wow, Todd. I totally thought you were making that up. But then I clicked the link and it was all there.

I’ve been thinking about subscribing to some more magazines. I only get one at the mo’. But I LIKE getting magazines. And subscriptions are cheap so why the eff not?

  2. Can we get some in-depth coverage of “The 40+ ‘Pole Pumas'”?

I can’t tell if that headline refers to their age or how many of them there are. I’d be scared shitless if I saw more than 40 pumas climbing around on poles, roaring and … I dunno …. eating gazelles? Yeah. Probably that.
