All I can say is “Thank GOD for the internet,” because otherwise we may never have seen the amaaaaazing Marvin Zindler—the restaurant heath code violations reporter for Action 13 News. In this video, Marvin files his final report ever from his hospital bed—and boy, does he go out with a doozy! Hope there’s no rrrrrrOACHES, or slime in the ICE in heaven.

Bang bang, choo-choo train, let me see you shake that thang. Wm. Steven Humphrey is the editor-in-chief of the Portland Mercury and has held the job since 2000. (So don’t get any funny ideas.)

  1. No!!!! I remember him fondly from Houston too! No one here knows what I’m talking about when I say there was SLIME IN THE ICE MACHINE! And those sweet blue lens glasses he wore? What a character. Sad times.

  2. He died more than three years ago, but it’s still entertaining. My wife used to live in Houston and remembers his reports well. What I’m wondering is…did food poisoning finally get him, after their long and bitter decades-long battle? Also…did they bury him in an ice machine?
