I don’t like April Fools’ day. It’s like watching the internet collectively bomb at an open mic.

Street Roots, though, went all in this year for their April Fools’ day edition, and it’s pretty fun. In addition to a big feature story about how the government is spying on Street Roots, sample headlines include:

“Woman mistaken that 2013 was her year to run 5k”

“Carnivore ‘traumatized’ after Portland cookout scolding”

and my favorite, which brings to mind a tiny tantrum thrown by Dirk VanderHart as he contemplated his rainy bike road home the other day:

“Transplants surprised by amount of rain, depression.”

Pick it up!

Alison Hallett served nobly as the Mercury's arts editor from 2008-2014. Her proud legacy lives on.
