I’m trying to manage my expectations. Bay’s name is definitely keeping me in check. But gosh darn it, the trailer looks decent.
It does look good, but it also looks like almost a straight remake of the original.
Just be thankful that Bay is producing, not directing. Maybe all he’s in charge of is getting the coke.

Wes Craven has been King Midas in reverse for years (did you see New Nightmare?) and Jackie Earle Haley is a perfect Englund replacement. At the very least it’s not like they’re going to fuck up a spotless franchise.
If you have to recast it, Jackie Earle Haley is a great choice for Freddy.
