Want to win? Hit the jump for the rules!

All you’ve gotta do: In the comments below, correctly predict the winners in the following five categories: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, and (everyone’s favorite!) Best Sound Mixing.

All valid entries must be posted no later than 4 pm PST on Sunday, March 7. Whoever wins will get an email from me on the 8th (or the 9th, or the 10th) telling them how to pick up their prizes. In the case of a tie, I’ll pick a winner at random.

  1. @kiala: Lenticular means, “having to do with Lent, a stupid Jewish holiday celebrating goats.” Or maby it means, “a portmanteau of Lents and spectacular”

I don’t know. Erik is making up words.

  8. This is brilliant: You’re effectively hinging the win on whether or not someone can correctly guess who wins Sound Mixing. This is like giving contestants on Wheel of Fortune RSTLN E and their final puzzle is “CTHULHU”

I’m fairly certain Star Trek is taking Sound Mixing.

  12. @alison: That NYT’s article is on the nominees for Sound Editing, not for Sound Mixing. What’s the difference between those two categories? I’ve got no idea. I read the whole thing and was like, “They never talked about Transformers?”

  13. Avatar
    Tarantino
    Bridges
    Streep
    Star Trek

Even though it’s the Oscars, and even though my prognostication in no way reflects my own opinion, it still pains me to choose Avatar.

But it’ll take vice-gripped genitals for me to choose Sandra Bullock/The Blind Side for anything. Never, ever, ever, EVER.
