Today in rumors that will send America’s nerds into either spasms of joy or fist-shaking anger, Movieweb is reporting that Glee‘s Heather Morris—AKA the mentally deficient Brittany—is in serious consideration to play Buffy Summers in the non-Joss Whedon affiliated reboot of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. WHAT.
In this new reboot, Buffy will no longer be in high school, but instead facing the same hardships that a lot of young college graduates have today in struggling to find a paying job and a healthy relationship. Though she plays a teenager on Glee, the 23 year-old-actress is actually the right age for this newly rebooted take on the character.
I kinda don’t know what to think or say about this… but there are some definite pros and cons here:
PRO: I actually like Heather Morris. I think she’s super funny in Glee.
CON: I hate anyone who plays Buffy other than Sarah Michelle Gellar, and yes, that includes YOU Kristy Swanson!
PRO: Heather is an amazing dancer/gymnast and is physically right for the role. (i.e. She’s got a body that would make a preacher kick a hole in a stain glass window!)
CON: But… and well, c’mon… you know it’s true. She’s a bit of a butter face. I STILL LOVE YOU, HEATHER!! I’m a pig. I hate myself.
Can I qualify for “Comment of the Week” nomination by simply repeating the WTF sentence you wrote above?
