We’ll have a full review on Thursday, but until then: M. Night Shyamalan, we’re done. I stuck by you for a long time, man–longer than most. But I just can’t do it anymore. Sorry.

Thanks to Deadspin for the image.

  1. Thank you. I often feel guilty about trashing Mr. Shamalamadingdong because I know some people sincerely like his movies. Or rather, you’re the only person I know who sincerely likes his movies. Now that you’re off bus, the hate-fest can go full blast.

Man Lady In The Water sucked. It sucked SO bad! And the Village? Are you fucking kidding me? M. Night Shyamalan goes on three week benders snorting lines of his own hype. I’m so glad you decided to cut him off.

  2. Yeah, I mean, shit–it says a lot about The Happening that it pushed me off the Shyamalan bus when even Lady in the Water didn’t, you know? An hour into The Happening, though? I was just… off of it. Didn’t even wait for the bus to slow down–just jumped. So think about that: This is that much worse than Lady in the Water. I can only describe the worseness differential as “exponential.”

  3. i’ve been off the bus since unbreakable, but there was just a painful appearance of shyamalalalalan on npr’s science friday, wherein sh-whatever asserted to a horrified but reasonably polite ira flatow that god obviously fills in the gaps in scientific knowledge.
