IRON MAN 2 Robert Downey Jr., et al., return for a second outing with the armored avenger. (If you’re seeing it this weekend, stay through the end credits. I won’t spoil it, but… just sayin’.) And speaking of comic book movies, this week I also prattle on a bit about Marvel and DC’s plans for future superhero epics like 2012’s The Avengers.

BABIES I’m pretty sure this movie was actually directed by a couple of savvy marketing dudes at Babies “R” Us.

THE SECRET IN THEIR EYES Buzz on Juan José Campanella’s film has been really good—like, “Here, take this Oscar” good—and Marjorie agrees.

Meanwhile, Cort and Fatboy present The Big Lebowski at the Bagdad, The Bicycle Thief hits the Hollywood, Birdemic: Shock and Terror continues at the Clinton, the Grindhouse Film Festival brings back The Mystery of Chess Boxing for one more screening, and The Human Centipede—a movie that’s so good Ebert refuses to rate it—plays at Cinema 21.
