I don’t think I’ve hated another person more. He thinks Americans are so weak that they would panic about covid, he can’t be bothered to wear a piece of cloth over his nose and mouth, he constantly lies and lies and lies, his failure to act has cost tens of thousands of Americans to die, he got bored during his taxpayer funded hospital stay after being infected by covid after failing to protect himself and then rode in close proximity in a car with members of Secret Service, he tells Americans not to fear a deadly contagious disease that could kill them and their families and friends and coworkers and neighbors, he is essentially holding the American people hostage by telling them that after they vote for him he will pass covid relief, his administration didn’t want to help the Americans who didn’t vote for him in 2016, he could have prevented some of these deaths and some of American’s job losses and suffering and hunger and economic hardship and evictions and homelessness……
He leads a death cult, he’s like a lemming leading his followers over a cliff to their doom, almost encouraging them to get the virus and spread it. He’s a super spreader. He’s probably the White House’s patient zero.
He is evil.

The only people I hate more than him are the people who voted for him and every single Republican in our government (all levels, federal to the most local local) that has enabled this psycho and are still enabling him.
How are we to stay a united country when half of us think that destroying the country in the name of “owning” the other half? How can we possibly work with a party that does everything in their power to pervert every system of government to destroy the other half?
Trump isn’t the problem, he’s merely the symptom. It’s time to let go of the “United States” and go our separate way.
Trump haters are ok by me. But go easy on the people who voted for him. I got kin who voted for him. I know lots of folks in the Midwest and in the Appalachia region who voted for him. They’re not idiots. They have tons of common sense. They just had their reasons. But you gotta think outside the PDX bubble a bit to understand. People don’t vote against their economic interests. They vote for cultural norms and a sense of identity and belonging. They vote with the vague sense from their gut that Person A just might care about them a little more than Person B.
As all women know, just being a woman was one strike against Clinton. Add to that her “Davos” coastal elitism, the obsession with identity politics, surrounding herself with high-flying handlers and power brokers, and just plain being the ultimate government insider in an election where people wanted change. Trump looked good on paper. He made crazy promises. We’ll be sick of winning Ma imagine that! That’s what people wanted to hear. What they wanted to believe. People who voted for him were desperate and still are and thought it all sounded way too crazy to be true but why not take a chance? What could go wrong? The real tragedy is Clinton comes from blue collar stock while Trump wouldn’t know a bushel of corn if he stood right in front of it and like a real elite asshole he eats pizza with a fork. But he was able to convince enough people that he stood with them while there was Michael Moore trying to sound the alarm about her campaign ignoring Wisconsin and Michigan. I just shake my head to think about it but she lost her roots.
That was then and this is now. My kin all know better. A cousin told me she really thought he (Trump) was going to be different. Too many folks now see him for the con artist he really is and the American people are not dumb and they will always save this country from itself time and time again. If you want to blame anything, blame the GOP not the voters. A political party is supposed to keep the crazy at bay. It’s supposed to filter out the wackos and the con men. But the party is rotten to the core. And Dems are not much better although I’ll admit there are some good ones like Joe Biden. But you know what? This isn’t anything new. It goes back 200 years or more. Was it Churchill who said Democracy is the worst form of government except for all the others? Something like that anyway.
Oregon is irrelevant in the presidential election. It is not even amusing, just outright confounding that anyone here believes Oregon is relevant in any way when it comes to electing the POTUS. And to vilify Portland like it is some sort of center of the universe is the height of absurdity. Portland is only relevant in Oregon. And it is only relevant in that it pushes the state blue (though look at the evidence of the last two national elections, for POTUS and for Congress, and you will see there are more counties turning blue than Oregonians want to admit).
In terms of reality, 3 million more people voted for HRC than voted for Trump. Trump won by less than 45,000 votes that gave him the EC. He ran on a platform of hate and lies and people voted for him because they were stupid, believed his lies, and hate the same people (women and everyone not white) that he hates. White women voted for him because they believed his white supremacist ideology would protect them from his misogyny (they were wrong). Stupid people believed voting for a failed businessman who lied about being a billionaire and had no experience whatsoever was a good idea. Do they regret it now? Who the fuck knows. Who the fuck cares? They good and fucked the entire country, including themselves. so badly it may never recover from the damage he has done.
Trump is toast. He is literally destroying his own campaign and even Russia has decided he isn’t a worthy asset anymore. If he doesn’t drop dead from COVID soon and he fails to outright steal the election (which is what the plan has been and publicly announced since he began his “vote by mail is corrupt” and “the election is rigged” rantings and ravings), he is going to lose spectacularly. We can only hope it is SO HUMILIATING that he STFU and hides in a hole for the rest of his life. Whatever happens, Oregon doesn’t matter. Oregon will play no part in deciding who the POTUS is. It never has and it never will and all talk about Portland somehow being important beyond the scope of the state lines of Oregon is pure, laughable, sad fantasy.
