Check out this new acoustic video from Portugal. The Man, exclusively here at the Mercury! The band performed this impromptu, mostly acoustic rendition of "You Carried Us (Share Me with the Sun)" in a backyard right here in Portland, and Graham Baclagon caught it on video. The tune comes from the band's great 2011 album In the Mountain in the Cloud, an album that just gets better and better the more I listen to it.

Portugal. The Man frontman John Gourley's memory of shooting this song earlier this year isn't exactly vivid, but here's what he had to say:

"All I really remember is that right after we filmed this video for a completely unpracticed 'You Carried Us All' we headed straight downtown to Portland where I had one of the worst anxiety attacks of my life while filming another acoustic session with old ass men in suits huddled around to watch some band that they have never heard of play some song they don't know. Not the most comfortable situation."
But the band seems plenty comfortable here. Portugal. The Man plays the Crystal Ballroom with Nurses next week, on Friday, December 9. That show is already sold-out; hopefully you're one of the lucky ones.

End Hits: Carrying you all. (You're welcome.)
