Here's the debut video from Yum Yum, a new Portland recording project brought to you by the folks from Serious Business. They're releasing their debut self-titled album on Futro Records as a free digital download, and in a limited run of 100 two-GB USB drives in the shape of candy. They describe Yum Yum thusly: "Perhaps our most pop project yet, Yum Yum explores lyrically driven progressions of heartache and longing, celebrating, and the passion of philosophizing. Featuring guest vocals from Futro artists Winston Lane, Jason Mampel (of Serious Business), HAR-1 and Neo G Yo, plus Portland's Michelle Wylen and Toronto mc Brown, Yum Yum brings together a wide range of artists to share in his quest for scientifically sonic experiments."

This fine, mesmerizing video is for the album's final track, fittingly titled "The Last," and it was directed by Minh Tran, who shot it on Super 8, which was then digitally manipulated. (*Conflict-of-Interest Pony requires we inform you that Minh is a talented photographer who frequently contributes to End Hits and Mod.) Trip out to the lingering—but not static—single shot of actor Megan Hodge, with Yum Yum's plaintive, heartachy vocoderisms.

Yum Yum will play their only live show to celebrate the album's release on Wednesday, July 25 at Yes and No (20 NW 3rd). Voodoo Doughnut is making a special Yum Yum doughnut for the event. So, yum!
