Robert Christgau, in 1971 reigning Dean of Rock\Pop critics for nearly underground downtown NYC weekly the VILLAGE VOICE free lanced to the NY TIMES a book review of Sanders unique narrative for that first edition of his work covering the Manson case for LA FREE PRESS, collected, published and distributed to a then robust indie book\record store scene coast to anti-war coast:
