Last Friday night I drew a lighting bolt on my face with lipstick, which I ASSUMED was the honorary dress code for the Lovecraft’s David Bowie Dance Party. However, most of the foreheads I saw were pretty blank and devoid of electrostatic discharges. This weekend, if you aren’t already painting your face sports ball colors for the big Sports Bowl, consider fashioning yourself in the late Starman’s likeness for one (or two… or all three) of these Bowie tribute nights.
FRIDAY (tonight!)โDavid Bowie Tribute Night
with: Cats From Japan, Hyenas, Blรผ Rรซal, Southerly, Hollow Sidewalks, Hawkeye, The Dandelyons, Numnum Boys, Calisse, Ali Ippolito, Whole Wide World
Cats From Japan describe themselves as “a group of like minded Austin musicians brought together for one sole purpose: the re-creation of ’70s David Bowie.” If you’d like to resurrect the Thin White Duke for just one night, this tribute is probably your best bet. It’s their job.
