Musician/DJ Anya Marina has announced the details of her upcoming album, which is due out next year on Chop Shop/Atlantic Records. Marina, once based in California, is now a full-time Portland resident, and the forthcoming record bears clear evidence of this: She’s given it the title Felony Flats. No word if it’s a concept album about meth tweakers hanging out on SE Foster, but the record (which Marina produced herself) contains local guest musicians like drummer Joe Plummer of Modest Mouse/Mister Heavenly, guitarist/pianist Eric Earley of Blitzen Trapper, and bassist Jeff Bond. Felony Flats is due out February 14, 2012.

End Hits: Nothing says Valentine’s Day like an album named for Portland’s most romantic neighborhood.

  3. My band recorded an album called “Live From Felany Flats, The Big Gnuts Sess”. Screaming naked feuding tweakers and violent angry teens definately had a direct influence on our thrash heavy sound.
