Prior to his (literally) incendiary show at Moda Center Friday night, Sir Paul McCartney helped Dan Mathews of PETA decree Portland this year’s most vegan-friendly city in America. McCartney, himself a vegetarian since 1975, was given an edible arrangement of vegetable flowers by Mayor Charlie Hales, as well as some fancy locally-made vegan cheeses and cold cuts. According to KATU, McCartney said, “The City of Roses is the city of the future.” But he was probably thinking, “Vegetable roses are a little weird.”
