If you haven’t had a chance to catch a live set from Lost Lander, it’s very likely that “Cold Feet” is the only thing you’ve heard so far from songwriter Matt Sheehy and producer Brent Knopf. The song made it on to PDX Pop Now!’s 2011 compilation and it’s the lone track streaming on the group’s Bandcamp site. And now they’ve released a mesmerizing video to accompany “Cold Feet.” Director Jonnie Ross shot an evening of television on his iPhone and edited the footage together into a commentary on media overstimulation. As the frames frantically pass by—from beer ads to TV movies to old sitcoms—the video does an excellent job of making you feel self-conscious about all the absurd crap you’ve watched on TV. Sheehy’s sweet pop song humming along to the fleeting images helps to create an uneasy feeling that maybe you really should have turned it all off years ago. (Though it’s also fun trying to recognize and name the video’s references)
“Cold Feet” will be the opening track of Lost Lander’s debut full-length DRRT. The album comes out on January 24.
End Hits: At the 0:23 mark, Number 5 alive!

Im not crazy about the video. I was hoping for more.
I am having a difficult time trying to understand how this video is “a commentary on media overstimulation” — when in fact all it is is overstimulation.
A “commentary” on anything social should have a counterpoint or a solution for the issue. We see none of this in this Video directed by Johnny Ross. It is all just a sloppy, undisciplined mess.
There is no message to be gleaned from a collection of commercials and movies cut together in a super hyper way.
I mean what is the point really? It’s not like anyone involved with this video did any real thinking. If they did we would have seen something beautiful instead of just white noise.
There is no message in this video only piracy.
In the end this video is a sad attempt at what we’ve seen before – Billy Joel “we didn’t start the fire” ring any bells.
It seems as though the band and the director were looking for an affordable – yet illegal – way of producing a music video.
My hope would be that Lost Lander find a new director, someone young and full of vision instead of a director who takes the easiest way out when faced with what can only be described as a super low budget production. Anything shot in one evening with an iPhone can only be described as “last minute.”
I wish the music had a chance to live outside of this mess – i look forward to hearing the song without all the annoying and stolen images
