Tipster Gregory Day was kind enough to send us these photos of the famed Satyricon building meeting its ultimate demise at the hands of a demolition crew. While the punk rock landmark is now literally just a pile of rubble, you can always post your (hazy) memories here.
Teary-eyed punks should not click the jump, because there are more photos there.

I know I went there a couple of times, really wish I could remember it.
MY YOUUUUTTTTHHHHHHHH.
I had the best New Year’s eve EVER at Satyricon. Early 90’s and Hitting Birth was the band. I’ll never forget that night. The band ran out their play list and just started over. The energy was so great that no one cared. The band played literally till the lights were turned on. Permanently embedded memory.
That’s a pretty good visual metaphor to the way your head feels the morning after a show there.
Nuts.
Whoah, I was just there a couple weeks back taking photos:

I wonder if anyone got that sign?
I really wanted to get that sign!!!!
It was hidden and forgotten.
Ahhh, I remember when I saw Backhoe play at the Satyricon.
@Spindles Well done.
Think of all those rats that lost their home today.
In it’s time they had some great music at Satyricon, but it sure was a dump.
Another step on the road to every building in Oldtown being an homeless shelter. That neighborhood is like Vegas for bums.
Glass Candy when they were a punk band, she sang the encore with her boob hanging out. It really made an impression.
I’m not really sad to see it go.
I was at that Hitting Birth New Year’s Show too! I had a fake ID and I kissed a stranger in striped pants on those seat-stairs at midnight. Such a rad night!
I remember the wrestling night when someone on stage pissed in a bucket and them dumped it on the crowd. Ahh, the good ole days…
In the dark recesses of time (early 1980s), I was an habitue of the Satyricon. I moved away from PDX 26 years ago without looking back. Thus, I was surprised at the visceral response I had to seeing this sight.
I have one of the dividers from the men’s bathroom stall. Yeah, it’s a big chunk of metal covered in graffiti and stickers. But it’s nice to have the memory.
Nooooooo. So depressing…. bands I saw at the Satryicon—–Eliott Smith 1999—–Brainiac 1997—-Iron and Wine—–Black Rebel Motorcycle Club——-Sparklehorse—–and many many others I was noo intoxicated to remember….. This was a pretty musically historical joint back in the days. R.I.P sATRYICON
