How Did Big Business Get Behind the Bag Ban?

So I will be expecting the cost of eggs and milk to plummet with in the next few weeks.

I am actually annoyed with the way this was rammed through. I bet there are a lot of angles that haven't been thought through in Adam's rush for yet another vanity project (I have never regretted voting for anyone as much as for him!). One thing I know from European plastic bag bans, shop lifting will skyrocket (they will fill their bags instead of use a cart and neglect to take everything out of the bag at check out). It will slow down lines to a snails pace as idiots attempt to pack their own groceries, or the check out person attempts to untangle the mess of re-usables that people bring in with them. The list goes on but it will become clear soon enough.

@live in ireland part time: Study after study has shown that shoplifting has not increased (with the exception of people stealing shopping baskets for the first month after the ban goes into effect.) And the time increase is around 5 seconds per customer if the store bags people's groceries, (zero is the store doesn't have to worry about that sort of thing.)

Please wait...
